Jim Murphy

Post by Gerry Grider »

I saw Jim Murphy with Asleep at the Wheel last night in San Antonio. I spoke with him after the performance and enjoyed meeting him. He's back after 3 months of chemotherapy for lymphoma. No hair-no beard but plenty of steel guitar and dynamite saxophone. His triple neck Bethel sounded great as did his D10 Bethel.

Had the pleasure of opening for Big Jim Murphy and AATW last night at the Boulder Theater. A real gentleman and a terrific picker on pedal or straight steel (not to mention a heck of a sax player). If the Wheel comes to your town, DO NOT MISS IT. They are in top form!
