Pete Drake's tuning

Post by Jim Florence »

I'm having my 1967 ZB rebuilt and I can't remember the old Pete Drake pedal setup on the "C"neck. I didn't use it exactly, but I had a variation of it, and I had to start with his setup back then. I need to send the setup to Greg Jones who is doing the work. I haven't played it for years.
Thanks Jim<FONT SIZE=1 COLOR="#8e236b"><p align=CENTER>[This message was edited by Jim Florence on 12 September 2002 at 03:05 PM.]</p></FONT>

John, You can often find it on EBAY for anywhere from $5 to $15. I believe the book is still in print(Oak publications) and now comes with a CD with the tunes rather than the flexible record that used to be included. I would suggest you get the book with either the CD or record. Here is one link where it can be found: http://www.midi-classics.com/b/b12050.htm
Great book that will delive tons of fun and lots of valuable info.

Winnie, That's 27 cents just right here. You'll soon be able to retire. Here in the States most people ,when they retire, write a book. We're waiting on your next one.

I just checked with Winnie Winston´s book and the Pete Drake setup in there apparently is what he had on his Sho-bud Crossover, that is, it uses 6 pedals and 1 knee lever for C6. On a standard D-10, you´ll need 9 pedals if you want to adopt it exactly.

Jim:
If we get to see each other again in Oklahoma, you may find it interesting to see the steel Zane made for his cousin a month before he died. It is unlike any other steel that I have seen made by him.
I bought it from his cousins widow.
