Bob Lucier, Wow what tone!!!!!!

Post by Red Kilby »

To all of you folks that could not pry yourself away from the main room for 5 minutes you missed out on Canada's finest steel player, in the Fulakwa Room.

Bob Lucier is a real class act, and his wife Connie is such a wonderful lady.

Any way it was a real treat to have Bob ask me to do the vocals on his show in The Fulakwa room on Sat.nite and it was standing room only, with a huge overflow in the hallway. I expected to do a couple of songs but when he kept me up there for his whole set, that was a real honor.
If anyone out there ever has the chance to see and hear this Legendary Steel Player,
DO IT!!!!!!!!
WOW WHAT TONE<<<<<<<<
If you want a copy of his new released CD you can get it thru him at>>>>>> www.ambrec.com/boblucier

Red,

Sorry I didn't get to meet you. I was hanging out in the doorway of that room listening to all your tunes. Correct me if I've got the wrong guy, but you stood and played some lead as well, right? I think you went scrambling for the guitar once, realizing that the sitting lead guitarist didn't know the tune they were playing.

Great job to all the jammers. That was a real nice set that Bob did.

No not me Ron, I sang with Bob on Sat. Night about 10:30 pm or so. I am strictly a strummer, not a lead player. It was just before Laney and Russ Hicks performed.

Sorry, Red. I didn't show there until about 1 AM. I'm pretty sure Bob took another turn about that time.

Ron,

The gentleman you speak of trying to help the band out was a long time friend of mine named Harold Meeks from Florida...I guess Red gets his name from, well you know his hair..ha ha.

I too enjoyed Bob and if you haven't gotten his CD, do yourself a favor. His approach to
style will have you playing it over and over..

I had the pleasure of singing with Bob Sat nite. Great kick offs and it was like riding in a Rolls Royce singing with the man.."The Other womem" I can still hear it. Jerry Brightman did a fabulous job on the main stage.I kept looking for ole Buck to walk out.Certainly Tom Bromley and Jerry side by side was a highlight.
