Several customers had sent guitars here before the weekend & with my alarm system being down, home seemed to be the place where I was needed most. That being said, I feel fortunate
that I saw most of the shows on Saturday(minus a short nap).
I especially enjoyed TW's set before the dinner break.Tommy kept 'em in their seats the whole show & I did notice that the room got alot quieter
During the show I sat with Dick & Kay Miller(thanx for the libation), JC & Russ Hicks; 3 steel guitar pros who know the real deal when they hear it. We all had big smiles the whole set & the head shakin' was continuous.Tommy performed great arrangements
on the standards & his originals were new & refreshng in both melody & structure. I especially liked his composition "Tesa's Waltz". Great tone, counterpoint & notes hanging & blending in to one another for days! Loved the 4's with Bobby C too
All of us at the 2 booths were quiet much of the time (strange, but true in my case) & just shot each other looks when something "Killer" played would get to one of us,(which was also pretty much continuous)....I swear that boy has ice water in his veins
And I say that, being no stranger to the stress of performance pressure myself. The numerous shouts of "More" during the well deserved Standing O really said it best, though

Tommys set made my short but eventful trip to St Louis all worth it....thanx brother
