Last night I had the great fortune to hear the Down From the Mountains concert and I must say it was incredible. The show was Mc'd by Rodney Crowell and featured (hmmm where to start ....)

A killer show with great Bluegrass, Gospel and Country songs. every time you turned around, another singer or picker would join an act for a song or two.

for us steelers, Jerry Douglas played an irish fiddle tune in the style of a Meryl Travis with the bass strings of his Dobro droning open in G while he played up the neck on the high strings. Truly beautiful

And his duet with Stuart duncan playing fiddle behind Rodney Crowell, Emmmy Lou and Patti? White singing Untill I gain control sent chills up my spine

I also saw this show in Charlotte. One of the best shows I have ever seen. Every one that performed was a world class musician. They even let Jerry Douglas play just by himself, just him and his dobro.
