They Call Me a Playboy" ?

Post by Roy McKinney »

Somewhere in the past I ran across some discussion on Winn Stewarts They Call Me a Playboy and they showed some tab on how the Master Ralph Mooney played it. Have not been able to find it now. Does anyone know where it is??? Thanks

OOOOOOOHHHH!! I'd like that tab too!!! Wynn Stewart is one of my two favorite country singers of all time. It don't hurt that Mooney was his steel player for years (and it don't hurt that he had Roy Nichols on guitar and Merle on bass too, that must have been a smokin' band!).

I went to the site and the tab is not there, just the audio. Sorry about that.

Jeff Lampert tabbed out Jay Dee's version for me a while back. It isn't exactly what you are looking for but it might help. Here's the link. http://steelguitarforum.com/Forum8/HTML/00825.html If this doesn't get you there just go to tablature and do a search using the word Playboy. Alan, your link is off a little. Here's the link to the tab for the solo in the version by Herb Pederson and Chris Hillman on "Bakerfields Bound"

Thanks guys, that is what I was looking for. I was very fortunate back in the late 50's and early 60's to have lived in SO CAL and got to see and listen to a lot of Winn Stewert and Skeets MacDonald with Ralph on the steel in a lot of the local establishments.

OOPS...Sorry JayDee, I though the tab was Ralphs. Hope to see you in October when I come back down to So Cal.
