Does anyone know what guitar Lloyd used on this 1971 album?
Lookingat the year I would think his Baldwin Crossover before or after removing the C6th neck. However the picture on the cover shows a different guitar, I think he never owned.

That was my Baldwin Sho-Bud which I used on recordings from 1970 until 1973. This guitar was, in it's first incarnation, a regular double- neck with all the concomitant pedals. It became, during the last 6 months of my ownership, the "prototype" for the LDG model, when we stripped all of the C6th apparatus away and put the pad on ( over Shot and David Jackson's vehement protests that I would irreparably ruin that fine double-neck steel ).
Although they were initially adamant that this idea would never have any commercial value, it ultimately became Sho-Buds biggest seller in the later years of it's Nashville ownership.
So it is, indeed, that very steel I've decribed. And for what it's worth, Tommy White, whose opinions concerning music and the steel guitar I highly respect, thinks it was the best sounding of the four Sho-Buds I played during my 25 years in the recording studios of Nashville and the world.
