Darryl Worley

Post by Terry Wendt »

Well I happen to think that Darryl WORLEY has a better batch of steel work than anything out there right now. Paul Franklin plays some very interesting stuff on both necks! IT IS a definite must have in my own opinion. Very challenging licks and much "new styled/old school" steel for all the traditional country steel guitar lovers. Tab is available too! I may be posting some files on: www.theearlydays.com/steelguitar.htm in the near future as well! Love to hear everyone's comments.

Funny story- I was in Nashville a month ago (great to see you again Terry)and shared a table at the Waffle House on the I40/Hermitage exit with another guy who was also waiting on an available table. Since we were both there alone and he was there first he offered to share his table with me and we broke bread and shared stories. Turns out that it was Darryl Worley and he was mastering his new CD that night and we sat in the cab of his truck after breakfast and listened to a pre-release vesrion that should be out in July. Terrific steel and guitar (Paul Franklin and Brent Mason) and terrific down-to-earth guy.

Geeesh! I just realized... this CD isn't actually released yet Image Oops on that one for anyone who is looking to "pick this up right away!" I'll post the licks and the tab anyway, as it comes about for the tunes worked on here: www.TheEarlyDays.com/steelguitar.htm I just won't put any "full length files" up.

Good to see you again too Jim. Maybe next time it won't be 23 years between visits. Image
