The question should be,
who gives you the biggest goose-bumps
when he/she plays?

He is still fast. LG knows the value of playing creative hot licks. Listen to "Quicksand" and "Rolling In My Sweet Baby's Arms" from his "Ten Shades Of Green" album if you need to be convinced.

For goosebumps, it's got to be Hughey. His playing can get the hair on my neck (and back) to stand up straight. Then again, so can Buddy.

I agree with Richard, Hughey, Speed does not get me goin as much as tone and feeling. JB's chime solos are still hard to beat.

I heard a wize old guy or a old wize guy that had a steel guitar store on Hgw 31 W near Millersville Tn. say that "a steel guitar wasn't made to be played fast, it was made to be played beutiful" I never heard this guy say much of anything else that made sense, but this certainly did and still does to me. B T W that old f--t kin play one beutiful when he lays the bull crap aside.

You could say the same thing about a violin, which is certainly as expressive an instrument and can arouse tremendous emotions. YET, where would bluegrass be without hot fiddle playing. Answer: Nowhere. IMO, every instrument can and should be played both with great feeling, as well as fast and furious. And it behooves all players to be adept at these two sides of the musical equation.

I think you meant Van De Graaf generator! Image (That's the static-generating machine that makes your hair sand on end.)

Tesla coils (with their hi-freq AC) just burn you. Image

(Been there...done that...OUCH!)

Donny,
I wasn't sure about the Tesla coil. Actually I meant fingernails across a blackboard. Image
