I got a bag of 100 1/8th set collars from the George L booth and made arrangements with them to have the 14 hole bellcrank (that Jerry Brightman gave me at the hospital in Cleveland exactly a year ago) gold plated. When I get it back I will install it on my guitar. When I told Jerry
about it he even went and paid the tab to get it gold plated. I was presented a gold play bar during my set on the show as it was my birthday. This was while Rev. Wayne Smith was leading the congregat... I mean the audience in singing Happy Birthday to me. I will cherish that bar forever as it was provided by Charlie Norris. Kenny Davis has let me know that he took some great photos of that event and has processed them and they are on there way to me UPS!!! I sure have some great friends!
Oh, I bought another used Profex II so I can have one in each rack. I sure like those things.

Richard, Emmons had a table in the foyer loaded with all kinds of goodies and parts.
They had a room with three new Evans 150 amps and 2 D10 guitars which both sounded great. One was a black LeGrande II and the other was a LeGrande III natural lacquer birdsye maple with lacewood front which is a medium brown loaded with a beautiful unique small figured grain. Both guitars sounded great thru the Evans 150's and the workmanship was perfect. Ron Jr. personally built them. I came very close to taking the black one home with me even though I have a
2000 black LeGrande III. Everyone that came in and played on the guitars when I was there
liked them very much. I spent quite a bit of time playing bass and rhythm on the black one while others were trying out the lacquer guitar.

This was my first steel show and I had a fabulous time. I picked up a Goodrich 120 volume pedal, some new picks, a new Red Rajah bar, some Jeff Newman and Herby Wallace instructional material. It was neat to put a face to some of the names here on the forum even though I didn't get a chance to meet alot of you.

Well, the show pretty much was a disaster for me. I busted my butt writing and creating a new tab/rhythm tracks course for my new album, and the CD duplicators didn't have the product ready. I had laryngitis, and in the middle of my set, cut my little finger open and had to stop the show.
But I did get a new-to-me toy. Lee Jeffriess and I swapped PA Reissue guitars. Lee got my #3, a T-8 w/5 pedals; I got his #7, a D10/S-8 also with 5 pedals. #7 was formerly owned by Billy Wilson. Lee is an 8-string guy, while I'm more comfortable on 10's, so it was win-win for both of us. Muchas gracias to Mike Black for hauling around a flight case with a huge Bigsby in it.
I also got some George Lewis strings, and its always a treat fooling around with the women at the George L booth.
