Everyone is welcome to meet in the hall just outside the Carter booth/demo room if you'd like. We would suggest Saturday at 6 pm as the time for the Forum Gathering ... how does that sound?

Identify Yourself as a Forumite:
Also, if you would like to identify yourself as a Forum Member, we will again have at the Carter Booth small, colored dots to place on your nametag to identify yourselves as forumites (just in case you don't have a Forum hat)**

**btw: my definition of "forumites" also includes people who only read and never post, in addition to those who post, of course

Lots of useful info on the Dallas show, including map and directions (and invited players).

We look forward to seeing all of you who can attend . . .

Hi Ann !

As I can go, and presumably won't have pneumonia, I'll be there at 6!

Will be good to see everyone again!

Was not planning on going because of other commitments. Still have not decided, but there is an outside chance I will be there. Save a dot for me just in case!

I'll be there the whole weekend this time. I took off that weekend just to take in the three days there at the Harvey and will show up there just before Loessberg's set on Fri(can't miss that for sure). I'll stop by Ann and John to say howdy and looking forward to seeing ya'll again....and save a dot for me and count me in on the picture.....
Also so many forumites and others have wanted to see the SS HAWAIIAN in person....so I'll have it strapped to my back and anyone wanting to pick on it; is just fine with me.

Well, arrangements have been duly made and I am in fact coming! Plane arrives Thursday nite at 7:40, so hopefully I'll find some of you that evening and catch a bit of the show. It's gonna be a blast!

As we put on our colored dots, let's all take a moment to remember the man who thought of the idea, our departed brother Ronnie Hiatt.

R.I.P. Ronnie. Your friends miss you.

Last year I had supper about 5PM then went to the room to get away for awhile...went to sleep and missed the Carter 6PM meeting and photo op.....I greatly missed meeting in person a bunch of these Forumites that I talk to all the time.

We owe our thanks to Ann (and her staff, Bud & John Image) for arranging all of this.

Hope to shake hands with some of you this year for sure! Image www.genejones.com

I hope that is not the same time Jeff Newman's "play when the light's on" segment.
That was the highlight of the show,,especially if Tom Morrel is one of the participants showing his talents. For those who have not seen this part of the show,,,DON'T MISS IT !

Ann,
I will see you and John and all of your staff at your Carter Booth when I arrive about 12:00 noon on Thursday. Unfortunatly, I will have to leave the show about 10:00am Saturday Morning because the band I play for has to play in Shreveport, Louisiana Saturday night. BUT....I was wondering if you have Adobe5.0 or better on your computer..that way you can take my piture and paste it in the main 6:00pm photo (Saturday)with all the other formites...(I Tried)See Yall in Dallas Image
[This message was edited by RON PRESTON on 14 March 2002 at 02:28 PM.]

Hi there! My wife and I have been kicking this around for some time now and have finally agreed to invest the bucks to make the long, long drive down to Texas from way up here in the Pacific Northwest. Maybe you have a prize for the oldest people who drive from here (2,100 miles) to there? (Just a tho't.) Have no Forum-hat......so please save a couple of DOTS for us. See yuh soon!

Hey Ray, it will be great to meet you, after reading your posts all these years.

By the way, last year I made the mistake of taking nothing but short sleeve shirts, and I found that ballroom kind of cold. Wound up buying a real fine TSGA jacket (which I cherish, and proudly wear all over the place)and wearing it most of the time, but I sure did wish I had brought a couple of long sleeved shirts with me. Ya'll might want to keep that in mind while you are packing.

Bob is correct about the undependability of Texas weather this time of year...it can be 80-90 degrees during the day, and get up the next morning to snow! www.genejones.com

I will concur about the ballroom being cold last year. However it's looking warm down there for now.

It wasn't the outside weather I was thinking about - I don't remember it being particularly cold outside last year. Certainly not by my northern standards anyway! It was just inside the hotel that it was kind of on the cool side. Glad to hear it's warm down there right now - after a record mild winter we are in a deep freeze up here right now!

Yeah the weather up there in Dallas can still be weird this time of year. A couple of years ago it actuall snowed on the Sunday of the show. In fact the weather alwasys seems to be foul on the last day of the show.

But I guess that is almost shorts weather to you guys from the frozen north Image

See ya all next weekend.
