Ode to Jody

I have made many e-mail friends on the Forum that I have never actually met in person, but Jody Carver is a friend that stands "tall" on my list. Many times with nothing to gain, he has touted my (questionable) steel playing ability to people who could care less, and I am humbled by that special effort by a talented and caring individual to recognize an unknown steel gutiarist. (me)
Jody is a special person who is undergoing some exceptional health problems currently, along with his wife Marilyn, and I feel that he would be uplifted by some special words from those who have enjoyed his many unselfish words from the past..........
....and he plays great steel guitar also, (ask Speedy).
Please give Jody some encouragemen during his current health problems, and show him you appreciate his many contrbutions to the history of our business.
Thank you my friend.

I, too enjoy Jody's stories from the past, he IS the Fender authority on this forum , and probably on a Fender forum if they had one. Often times Jody's posts are long, but I read every word. I appreciate his humor also and I find it very entertaining when he p..... somebody off! Jody, I saw your picture in a Fender book a while back... You're famous!!! Now a question for Jody, why did the Ventures switch from Fender to Mosrite, and also what was the mood at the plant when the news was delivered? #2. I'm sure y'all thought it would be the end of the world, but as time has proven, it didn't matter at all, as Fender is going strong into the new millineum! Jody, I hope you are feeling well and I hope you overcome your health problems! Keep on posting

Count me in as a Jody Carver fan. Jody, you and Marilyn are in my prayers every day. I hope you both can feel the HEALING ENERGY we SFF'ers are beaming toward you.
I appreciate your posts very much, not only because they are entertaining, and not even only because they are often about Fender instruments and history (which interests me), but also because they often about your career, a subject which is interesting regardless of your involvement with Fender.
I also appreciate the info and good advice you have given to me recently. I am sending you both wishes and prayers for swift recovery.

...an update....
Hospital tests have indicated a prognosis that is not good, especially for Marilyn. A word of encouragement to Jody would be even more appropriate now.
