Band in a Box Out of Tune?
I put Band in a Box on my old IBM laptop and it is playing about E at about 435 on my tuner. I was hoping to use it for some simple recording but ??? Has anybody encountered this at all? I don't see anywhere in the software to control the pitch. It is digital right it shouldn't be off pitch at all? I don't get it?....

I tried to configure GM to master tuning and it said my sound card (laptop) didn't support it. So I am not sure what to do. I guess i could retune my steel to BIAB but that sure sounds like a crazy way to resolve this. I may just get a different PC to play the BIAB tracks. By the, way Hi Steve E. Hows it goin? Still enjoying the amp? Say Hi to Jason for me...

Ron, are you sure that your tuner is on pitch?
RE: Jack's suggestion to use Roland "Visual Sound Canvas" (VSC), I have been using VSC for quite some time and I like it. Sounds good, haven't noticed any tuning problems.
When using GMI I haven't noticed any problems either.

BIAB uses the computer clock as does your sound card. If the computer clock is not accurate, as most computer clocks, the sounds produced by your sound card will be off. Finally, as I've said before, BIAB DOES NOT PRODUCE SOUNDS. BIAB tells the sound card what to produce and that includes MIDI events.

I tried Roland and no sound at all came out of my laptop. It is an IBM Thinkpad which is notorious for problems with drivers that are not IBM proprietary drivers. I switched it back and i get sound now. Yes my tuner is perfect. I tried it with an old Korg tuner and then I tried it against my almost new rackmounted Korg DTR2000. BIAB is definitely putting E at 435. That is way flat. Time for a new PC for BIAB.
