Yahoo mail glitch

I consider myself to be somewhat familiar with network issues, but, this one has me perplexed.

I cannot get beyond the login URL at yahoo mail. The url times out. I can get past the "my yahoo" and "yahoo groups" logins just dandy. I have no other issues with either Yahoo or any other site/url. The problem only exhibits itself on my home network, all Windoze machines on the network (mix of XP home and 98SE) and with all browsers (many).

Further...I cannot ping or traecert to the URL, so, that about somes it up.

Everything works fine away from my home network.

I've tried tweaking my settings with DRTCP and played with my MTU settings on the router, etc. No joy.

I've reseached around broadband.com for any issues relative to my ISP. I have not seen a smoking gun yet.

I don't need yahoo mail at home. This is just bugging me.

Anyone care to throw me a bone?

Can you connect one of the home PC's directly to modem and see if that works?

(Could just be a Clarksburg thing according to my wife who is from Good Hope

)

That would eliminate the router.

Yes..It could be a "Clarksburg" thing

I think One of the PC's is close enough to the modem. I've got a long cat 5 cable around somewhere.

Yikes! Howard, I hope you have a software firewall installed and enabled on your computer before you connect it directly to your cable modem. If not, at least ensure that the Windows XP Firewall is protecting your network adapter against incoming TCP threats. It only takes a few seconds online to begin receiving TCP-borne malware threats.
