I have a new computer with 160 gb HD and 512 memory.
I get a message
Internet Explorer.exe-application error
What is causing this?

Internet Explorer is the web browser. It's made by Microsoft and sometimes it crashes.

Spyware, adware, and browser hijackering BHOs often cause Internet Explorer to crash. You should scan for malware as soon as possible.
