Anyone heard of PPCLEAR?
Using my spyware program I deleted a browser hijacker (which I believe was from Yahoo) and was required to restart my computer. Upon restart I got a small black "window" that was titled PPCLEAR. It was necessary for me to click a button to complete the process and continue loading windows? I could find very little about this on google. Apparently it means Parallel Problems. My registry repair program found no problems. Everything runs fine just wondering what this all means.

Eric;
It is possible/probable that the window you see is the result of a registry entry for the spyware you removed not finding the executable it is looking to launch. That means you have not completely removed all traces of the threat.

Perhaps it WAS ppclean as that does come up on many search pages. It appears to be associated with anti-spyware programs, one being Computer Associates who makes my spyware scanner. That must be why it said i needed to restart my computer. I still believe the hijacker was part of the software from Yahoo. I have seen searches come up withs ads stating towns close to where i live. Apparently Yahoo was compiling data to target ads.

OK, erik, and, just shooting in the dark here, but, if it were me, I'd be persuing it that way, and, when I "googled" pcclean.exe, I got several hits on where to look for entries to deal with the problem - "entries" meaning in the registry and on the hard drive.
