Although I don't disagree with it, I notice it's from a Linux site. Sort of like a Mac site doing the same thing.....

And, who cares, anyway?

MS "Windows" is so pervasive in most people's lives these days, is anyone going to balk at using the OS, based on something they include in their "EULA"?

The fact that it's "pervasive" is difficult for the Mac folks to swallow, I know.

But, how about a quick reality check? At the end of the day, all of us have the option of using Bill's OS, or something we like better. It's a personal choice.

I can swallow it ok.
But chose to not gag.
I do have a PC with Win 2K,
but NEVER on the net.
So they can't muck with my system..
nor anyone else.
[This message was edited by David L. Donald on 07 May 2006 at 10:19 PM.]

This particular license is different from the OEM EULA that comes with computers preloaded with Windows (i.e. Dell, HP). The OEM license will not let you install it on another machine after wiping it from the original system.

In fact, the license is specific in the fact that this copy of Windows can only be on this particular computer.

If the computer dies, burns up, or meets another life-ending fate, that copy of Windows is supposed to die with that computer.
