New FANTASTIC computer deal

Post by erik »

I was in Wal-Mart today and saw a new eMachine with an Athlon 64, 1600 mhz FSB, 16x DVD +/- writer, with 17" CRT monitor for $590. Last month the only one available was at Circuit City sans monitor for $569. This has to be the best deal going today. Look for the box with the RED label. The GREEN label has the Sempron chip.

Dell direct has the Dimension 2400 with a CRT monitor for $299, including free shipping.

The 2400 (and 3000) models are "entry level" PC's but that's the cheapest I've seen.

I suppose I meant best deal for the Athlon 64, which is considered by many to be the fastest consumer chip out there, 64 bit no less.

The web site says it can also come with a 15"LCD instead of 17"CRT for $692.
[This message was edited by erik on 22 July 2005 at 05:36 PM.]
