Is there any advantage to installing a PIII 500mhz processor in place of a PII Celeron 533mhz? They are only $15 on eBay. It is a slot 1, will any slot 1 do? My system supports 66 and 100 fsb.

Yes, The PIII runs a 100mhz front side bus and has a larger cache than the celeron, which will more than make up for the small drop in processor speed.
All in all a more efficient chip.
