? about opening a sound file
Thanks to anyone who can help me. I tried to open a sound file, and the screen came up, asking me what program I wanted to open it with, so I clicked on "Wave Player," which wasn't able to open it. I don't know how to try a different program to open the sound file, because "Wave Player" keeps coming up for this. Could someone help me?

Different types of sound files will require different players to listen to them. Wav will require a .wav player, .ra requires Real Audio player, mp3 requires Winamp, Windows Media player or another player that will handle mp3.
Sounds like you have now associated that type of music file with your .wav player, which, if it is .ra or something else, the .wav player cannot play. You can go to Start, Settings, and then Folder Options. Click on that and in the box that comes up, click on File Types. Find the name of the music type you were trying to play, left click on it to highlight it and then click Remove.
You can then get the correct player to play the file and load it on your computer. When you next try to play the file, choose that player and you should be ok.
