Another nail in the coffin of country music. There used to be a steel in the shop that I believed was Pete Drakes, although I'm not certain anymore. I wonder what will happen to the sign. It such a icon on Broadway for so many years. I guess it's like Dylan said years ago. "The Times, They Are A Changin"!!

Yes sad. I guess I understand because records and CDs seem to be on the way out, in favor of digital distribution. The last two new vehicles I bought didn't have CD players. I stream all my music anymore. Pandora - Leona Williams, Darrell McCall, Justin Trevino, etc... channels have great music with fiddles and steel, and it's free. There's still some traditional country music in Nashville, but you have to hunt for it.

I may have jump the gun on this one. I saw a short blurb about the Ernest Tubb Record Shop sign being out to be refurbished or restored. It'd be nice if this is the case, it's a pretty cool looking sign. Looks like time will tell on this one. Goes to show never believe anything you see on the internet.

The steel was Pete Drake's gold Sho-Bud steel called "Old Goldie"
