Steel players
After not touching my guitar for years, I am now trying to get back! My wife had passed away, and I want to get back! I am having a terrible time getting it intune and my peterson tuner is not helping!! I am a bed room
Picker but have a chance to pick locally with a fun group. If I can get the feel back and in tune!! Any suggestions, or help??

Hi Dave. Is your guitar a 10 string pedal steel tuned in E9th or something else?

I don't use or know anything much about a Petersen.

I know it's hard to start tuning if you can't hear or don't know the pitch of a string to begin.

Maybe the Petersen has a tutorial or a guide somewhere.

What I do when changing strings etc. and don't know where the E string sound is, I use a piano or a piano sound program so I can hear that note then tune everything from there.

Here is one program that will let you hear the notes.

Once you get the guitar close in tune, you can use your Petersen to tweak and sweeten the tuning. Hope this helps a little.

Good luck getting reacquainted with the steel and condolences on the passing of your wife.
