Nathan Flemming
Shout out for Nathan Flemming….. I am a steel player - 3rd generation, as well as bass, guitar, sound man, ect….. I have had the pleasure of running sound for bands twice in which Nathan was the steeler and Holy Cow!!!! The way that guy switches from E9 to C6 so seamlessly made me want to eat my damn hat! I last saw him at Two Step Inn with Charlie Crockett and he did NOT disappoint with that green lacquer Emmons !!! Made me want to apply just to change his strings lol!

Just saw him with Charlie at Cain’s Wednesday and was blown away. Not only incredible tone and taste but his ability to work jazzy C6 lines into country songs and make it sound excellent is just astounding.

Well Nathan was my very first pedal steel student when he moved to Austin(I was living in Round Rock w/First Wife) from the north/east in 1998; and I'll have to say; he was the ONLY Student that Learned EVERY single intro/Licks/Solos on my Instructional Video within no time at all in 1998. He was so impressive> Here is what he learned as a Beginner>

Yes I know I look young in my Video; but I was already freakin 36 years old.
Sorry the vid is really hot volume sounding; it's very very old and recorded with video Tape then moved to VHS; then to MPEG...ha...LOL

Yeah, Nathan lived in Philly before moving to Austin and came to me for lessons. I immediately saw that there was pretty much nothing I could teach this cat and told him he just needed to go get himself a gig. Next thing I know, he had moved to Austin and was gigging with Johnny Bush!Ricky Davis wrote:Well Nathan was my very first pedal steel student when he moved to Austin(I was living in Round Rock w/First Wife) from the north/east in 1998; and I'll have to say; he was the ONLY Student that Learned EVERY single intro/Licks/Solos on my Instructional Video within no time at all in 1998.
