I've recently discovered the version of "Everything That Glitters (Is Not Gold)" by Dan Seals on a later album he recorded titled "In A Quiet Room". It features dobro throughout the entire song - very tasteful!
The only album credits I could find say that both Jerry Douglas and Paul Franklin played on the album, but they don't say who played on individual tracks.
I'm just curious - does anyone know which one of them played on that track?
I posted this as question as a reply to a thread I found about when Dan Seals died, but that was very old so I apologize if anyone sees this twice.
Thanks!
Jerry

Thanks, Brett!Brett Day wrote:I just listened to the acoustic version of "Everything That Glitters Is Not Gold" and it's definitely Paul Franklin on the pedabro
I've been playing and singing it (down a key) at a weekly jam when I discovered and loved this version. Sent it to the dobro player from that jam.
I didn't listen closely enough to hear the PSG-like licks later in the song before sending it to him. It's gonna drive him crazy trying to figure it out. I better give him a "heads up"
He does have a Duesenberg lap steel with the benders, but that wouldn't sound the same, and I can't sing and play steel at this early point in my journey into the beast.
