Stumbled Onto A Great Silent Practice Rig

I'm not a fan of things that seem gimmicky and doubly not a fan when they seen needlessly expensive. However, I stumbled onto a needlessly expensive, gimmicky-sounding silent practice rig that made me an instant believer.

Maybe it's old news around here but I just discovered the Waza Air Bass headphones from Boss. No cables to deal with even to play with tracks, which is great, and a good built-in metronome, and all done with super comfy headphones, but the biggest draw by for me by far was the clarity of sound which is waaaaay better than any other similar type of contraption I've tried.

Downsides besides the expense?

1.Steel players have no need for one of it's big selling points to guitarists and bass players which is it's spacial location abilities. We're sitting in one place, so...

2.It needs recharging periodically but then so do most of these kinds of rigs.

3.I wish you could record from them somehow.

It's possible that the one made for guitarists is even better for steel but I went with the bass one because I wanted clarity for the bottom of the C6th neck and it totally delivers that.

I'm always well behind the curve on most things so maybe all this is old news but if it's also new news to you, and you want/need a silent practice system, I'll suggest checking these out.

I agree with you, Chris. If I'm learning a song, I'd definitely want to hear the playback of what I played.

Question, I have the Capo app on my ipad where I learn songs -transpose, slow down, change keys, isolate lead tracks, remove vocals. Can I use that along with or pipe that into the headphones to play along with?

Shouldn't be a problem. It connects to other devices (and the guitar transmitter) via Bluetooth.

Just to clarify…can you plug in your steel and, at the same time, play recorded tracks via either1) a cable-connected device or 2) a Bluetooth connected device?
