RIP Jim Sliff 5/28/52-1/11/24

Post by Mike Sliff »

Hi there,

My name is Mike Sliff, and Jim Sliff was my dad. I'm not sure how many of you knew him, but he was a lover of all things pedal steel, and I think he may have been fairly active in the online forums. My dad passed away last month unexpectedly. He had his share of health issues, but either way, it was a shock to us all. I know that the pedal steel community is a small world, and so I just wanted to post something up here to let anyone know who may have not already heard about his passing. My dad loved music so much, and found so much fulfillment out of not just playing and repairing instruments and amplifiers, but also from the relationships he made over the years. Thanks to anyone who ever interacted with him, I know he had a huge love for the community. Take care.

Mike

Your Dad and I shared the same birthday. I’ll think of him every year.
