Late great Ed Black’s 1972 Maestro Echoplex

Post by Jeremy Stone »

Hi everyone,
I have acquired an Echoplex owned by Ed Black, Linda Ronstadt’s old guitarist.
Unit has his name painted on the back and looks like it was used on tour.
Does anyone have any info on it?
Or maybe saw Ed use it with pedal steel?

I’ll try to post some pics later on.

Thanks,
Jeremy

people really like the preamps in those. do you have a tape cartridge with it? you'll want to clean and demagnetize the tape path and tape heads as well.

Yes, the preamp sounds really good. I have a tape cartridge and finished all the maintenance on the unit and rebiased the tape. Sounds good.
