Quilter vs. Milkman

Post by Nicholas Cox »

Hey Steelers,
Just curious if anyone has any experience A/B “ing” a Quilter Tone Block 202 to a Milkman The Amp. These seem to be the favorites for small and lightweight steel amps at the moment. Let me know your thoughts. Or if anyone has another favorite in this size and price range enlighten me.
Thanks,
Nick

Very different flavors. What I do when I get stuck with a quilter amp in a back line situation is bypass the quilter amp and plug my milkman “the amp” into the speaker. So that’s my opinion…

Other players really love there quilter amps.

To my ear the difference is the milkman has a more tube ,saturated sound. Full, rich and clear.

The quilter has more presence. That solid state twang thing. Maybe more like a Nash 400 while the milkman is more like a fender delux.
