TSGA whatta weekend

Post by Johnny Cox »

Image What an amazing weekend I've had. Three days at the Texas Steel Guitar Association show in Dallas. Lots of fun in the MSA room playing with all my friends. Great players in the main ballroom. Great vendors with lots of cool stuff.
An honor to be inducted into the Texas Steel Guitar Hall Of Fame. My kids, Joshua and Jenn flew in and surprised me. My bonus kids, Ryan and Katelyn, mother in law Carolyn and sister in law and many friends came to see me play. All of this topped off with a great gig subbing for Steve Polusek with Kelly Susan Spinks and Miles Of Texas at Lil' Red's Longhorn in Ft. Worth. Saturday night.
Thanks to Albert and Debbie Talley and all the gang at TSGA for a great weekend.
Also thank you to Kyle Bennett, Scott Anderson, Mitchell Smithey and all the team at MSA for the great hospitality and such a wonderful guitar. It performed flawlessly all weekend.
Thanks to Bill Cunningham , Jim Loessberg, Ronnie Ray, and Skip Edwards for a fantastic job playing with me Saturday afternoon.
Thanks to my best friend Joan Cox for nominating me for the Hall Of Fame. Last, but certainly not least, thank you to my wife Kayla who worked so hard to pull the family together, made hotel reservations, prepared food and snacks and a million other things just so I could come play and enjoy my weekend and not have to stress about details. Thank you sweetheart.❤️
Pictures are coming from several sources and will be added.
Additionaly, thanks to all the folks that support the steel guitar and TSGA, we couldn't do any of this without you.
Most of all thanks and glory to God for the gift of music, family, friends and forgiveness.

Congrats and thanks for posting your D13th seminar. I was up most of the night just playing D13th without pedals, for a change, after you showed just a small snippet of what it can do. Adding pedals to the tuning just supercharges it.
