Tips for an ampless rig

Post by John Larson »

Any tips for an ampless stereo rig? Mainly for a studio type setup. Looking for a high fi type sound. Very clean for ambient style playing.
Rejoice in the Lord, O ye righteous; praise is meet for the upright. Give praise to the Lord with the harp, chant unto Him with the ten-stringed psaltery. Sing unto Him a new song, chant well unto Him with jubilation. For the word of the Lord is true, and all His works are in faithfulness. The Lord loveth mercy and judgement; the earth is full of the mercy of the Lord.

I use a Sarno V8 for direct recording. It's a magic box. Also amazing for bass.

For ampless in ear live gigs I use a Milkman The Amp 100. It also sounds amazing for direct recording.

Take a look at the Simplifier Classic. I've been very happy with it.

I'm using the Simplifier too, with stereo modulation and delay/reverb in the effects loop

If you want increadible effects and endless versatility look at the Kemper profiler. You can get the unpowered “toaster”version used for a reasonable price now that the floorboard stage model is out.

Helix HX Stomp is an incredible option. This is on my Electric / Acoustic Guitar pedal board.
