NV 400 Head in blue

Finally finished my NV400 -FOX Mod- head only..
and then I built a very small 15" speaker cab to set it on. The old NV 400 cabinet was trashed...
I had some 3/4" scrap plywood setting around so I put it to use.................................
Bronco Blue Tolex
Fender Blue/silver/white grill cloth
Chrome wrap around corners
Vintage White Chicken Head Knobs
White face w/blue lettering amp face decal.
Vintage Metal Peavey Emblem
MOD 3 spring 17" Reverb tank w/Fox wiring harness
External power cord outlet for a standard extension cord
Chrome speaker jack which is just a Fender neck plate drilled for 1/4" jack
All screws have plastic donuts under the chrome
finishing washers.
Blue Leather Handle

Very nice...might look better with speaker cabinet on its side! No amp overhang...

Can you share the measurements you used for the head? Am thinking of doing this and wondering what height you used. Looks awesome!

Chris, the outside specs is as follows
20 width 10.5 tall 9.5 deep
11" tall would have been even better.

The reverb tank should be installed before you install the amp.
Bench test everything 1st. This was a rookie mistake by me...
My reverb doesn't work. It has a very bad humm I have a new molex harness from Ken Fox and a new Mod reverb tank.
Obviously I didn't think everything through with my speaker cabinet design.
Next time I will build the speaker cabinet to fit the head instead or like the one you see.

On a good note, the NV 400 works really good. Just need to use my reverb pedal with it.I just hoped to hear that Fox Mod that everyone speaks so highly of!

Reliable hardware has the chrome wrap around corners.
There are several places to get the tolex.
Leather handle is at Amazon
I used a chrome Fender neck plate for the speaker jack.

Hi Dave,

Did you have a problem with reverb hum before the new cases?

If not, I heard (in another post) about a posible cause, that if the power transformer is mounted too close to the reverb tank, it will cause hum......

Just a thought. Cases do look nice though, and as Larry mentioned the "weight reduction" is always helpful. I always liked the chicken-beak knobs....it does give a "vintage" look.
