I know folks should take notice that I am undoubtedly right there among the steel players in my price range!
Unfortunately, that's not always the case and I need to express disappointment, knowing full well I've perfected the art of using wrong chords in the right places and I have greatly expanded my ability of really Fast playing of an endless nonsensical series of pointless steel guitar expounding.
Well there is always next year!

Don it was the two of the "Fireballs" I'm trying to rack up some pictures to post here. Bo use to hang around the Norman Petty Studio there in Clovis NM and wrote some lead sheets to send off for song rights and knew theses folks from way back. You have to realize that at last years reunion all these guys hadn't played together since around 40 yrs ago and the Fireballs weren't advertised. Eloy packed it out with just his loyal fans!
No when he was very little he loved to sing like Roy Rogers but he stuttered and it sounded like he was saying E Ah Loy er Rogers. So they started calling him Eloy. Eloy Gonzales singing like Ray Price and riding on Triger just doesn’t seem right! Well maybe in Arizona?
Hi George greet hearing from you, glad you chimed in. later on in the evening at the Eklund Stan was on bass and Craig and Bo were playing guitar. Stan was seated at that table shown right by Bo. Wish they would have got him in the photo.
Bo knew the drummer who I believe lived in Farwell Texas. Bo did some transcribing lead sheets for copy rights there om Clovis NM at the Norman Petty Studio which was just a few miles from Farwell TX. Bo at the time wasn't playing he was employed by the American National Insurance Co.
I saw Pam Tillis open for George Strait years ago in Biloxi. I still remember her great comment, "I'd like to introduce y'all to the best band I can afford!" I'd say she did alright with Gary Morse on steel.
I played with Eloy in the Christmas/New Years of 1976 and right after his band was killed in the car crash. Man, he knew the words to every song up to that time. My folks put him to test one night at the old Mint club in Dalhart. He knew every Hank Thompson, Faron Young,Ray Price, Mel Tillis tune they asked for. Man what fun it was. Just had to chime in when I saw Eloy.
Bo, I've been passed over the last 3 shows. I was offered 9 am slots on Friday, but when you work with
a female singer, they just don't get going that early.
Hi Larry Hamilton, Yeah my best friend and High buddy Perry McDonald was killed in that accident. The accident was on the same Saturday of April as the Reunion Dance. My wife (Patsy Hamilton) passed away from a mosquito bite in Nov the year of the accident and I took Perry's place right after that. Most have been right after you played!
Talking about the Fireballs. What about Keith McCormick who wrote "Sugar Shack?" I think he also had a hand in writing "Wheels". Keith lived near Walnut Grove, Missouri when he died a few years ago. I had the pleasure of playing some with Keith. Sorry to hear you were not invited to play the show. Come hang out anyway, a lot of good people attend the show. Would love to get to know you. If you come to the show I will play my version of "Wheels".
The Fireballs are diffidently invited and some of them may show. It just wouldn't be fair to them to advertise.
We were just blessed with their dropping in on us and helping out.
