Post by Stu Schulman »

I have a new favorite steel guitarist and his name is Ronnie Miller,I just got through listening to "Brothers,Legends,And Friends and I am devastated by this recording,Ronnie's playing is second to none just incredible great tone in tune all the time, and he's got that touch that money just can't buy. There are so many questions that I would like to ask him but instead I'll just listen and enjoy the whole experience.Do yourself a. Favor even if you have to steal the money to get this recording do it!!!

Been pals with Ronnie since 1976. When I was off the road back in those days I used to go setup and play twin steels at his house gig. I learned a ton! Ronnie and his wife Ginger are also some of the finest people you’ll ever meet. Glad you discovered him!

Spent yesterday afternoon with Ronnie, Ginger and their son, Nick at Catfish Johnnys in Lake Panasoffkee Fl. Ronnie and Fred Thompson both did great playing steel with the band. The band was top notch too.
Tuesday jams are held every week and this is the first one I got to but it won't be the last. The doors open at 10:30 and the band starts at noon.

I've heard Ronnie at the Dallas show many times and he is one heck of a fine steel guitarist.
Cops aren't paid much so I steel at night.

Isn't he the same Ronnie Miller that played with Billy Thompson, maybe 40 years ago?

Ronnie is a great player and a real prince of a guy - and as someone as already said, he's on the road with Charlie Pride and has been for about 25 years :-} It's always a treat to hear him play at the Dallas steel show and usually with the rest of the "Pridesmen" ...very hot band.

When I was first starting to play steel around Denver/Boulder area in 1973-ish, my band "Dusty Drapes and the Dusters" would take me to the honky tonks to show me what I should try to sound like. Ronnie was at the top of their list. He mystified me, and more importantly...inspired me to get serious about learning this crazy instrument! Thanks Ronnie!
