Do you play Mr Sandman? - (Chet Atkins version Backup-track)
I am playing along with this background track for Chet Atkins Mr. Sandman this morning, with an easy to follow chord chart in the video.
Background Track:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qp-yx-mWp-A
Original:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dfsG1ukihl4
Any tuning will work.
The Theme lick is 13 notes (excluding the pick-up notes). You can hear it and teach it to yourself pretty quick.
He plays the theme lick in A, then a verse in A.
Then he plays the theme lick in D, and a verse in G.
Then he plays the theme lick in C, and plays a verse in C, ending with a half step walk down ending.
I thought maybe some other players would like this track.

That's way cool Pete!
About 8 or 10 years ago I tried my hand at a BIAB track for this song, going pretty much from memory. Your post jogged my memory and I went and found it. The arrangement is all 'wrong' but I wanted to have a track with the basic 'pieces' to practice with, and it worked for that.

I played it on this Stringmaster. I always liked the sound of that guitar, alas lost in a house fire in 2011. I've since replaced it with a '54 Dual Pro, which is also very cool. I may have to take another pass with your MUCH more official track. Thanks for sharing!

Hi folks,
I did Mr, Sandman on a Carter Steel standard E9th tuning several years ago and saved the clip. It's one pass. I am a true Atkins fan and always will be. Just do it in one key and it is short. Here's the link:

Gang I'm sorry but I took another pass at it on my Sierra.
More bugs worked out
Actually learned more than just the first two lines of the melody
