Our dear friend Clide Wilcox passed away yesterday. Many of you probably met him or noticed his beautiful guitar in our room at one of the Dallas shows. He wasn't much of a player, but he loved the pedal steel guitar and was a kind and generous person...and loved his family and friends. They are requesting someone to play "Amazing Grace" on Clide's guitar this Saturday (Sept. 22nd) in Mesquite, TX (standard "Emmons" setup). Please call or text me if you are comfortable with this song and guitar's setup, and are available in the Mesquite area, and we can discuss details.
If there are any players in the Dallas area that are available to do this, you can play your own guitar if that's an issue. They can just spotlight Clide's guitar. BTW, they will pay...don't think I mentioned that.
Thank you so much to the people who replied to this and offered to help! Really heart-warming. I'm sure the ceremony will be beautiful with Dave Hodan playing "Amazing Grace" on Clide's guitar. Again, thank you to all and thank you Dave!

Hi Dawn,
a beautiful thing you are doing for this family. Being too far away to come, and wouldn't presume to be qualified to do this, but there are so many good players out there. … I have played a couple funerals, is quite an experience. …
BTW, Clides guitar is a beautiful masterpiece instrument. ...

I was blessed to have experienced this stunning guitar for a little over 24 hours. Even though it needed strings it still set up nicely and played like a dream. It's most amazing feature was all from it's owner though. Clide had taken it around to shows ever since he had it made. The thing is signed by most all the famous Steel Player's. I wish I had a picture for you.
I am truly honored to have added a little Semper Fi and initials beside Paul Franklin, Doug Jernigan, and Ralph Mooney.
Such a wonderful Wilcox family heirloom. It's great to be a part of it.
