Daniel Jones/Standard Deviations!!

Post by Stu Schulman »

A few weeks ago I got to play at the Denver Steel Guitar Show,The one that is hosted by Bob and Lisa Case,I brought back a few CD's which I put in my car because I don't have a stereo in my house,But the one in my car is great,I have Listened to Jim Cohen's first CD which was excellent and JayDee Maness which was also great.Today on my drive to the Supermarket I listened to Daniel Jones /Standard Deviations and was totally blown away. What I remember was going into the backstage room in Denver Daniel was sitting behind a Beautiful blond Mullen D-10,he seemed to be deep in thought so I left him alone ,Then he and his band proceeded to play some of the greatest steel guitar jazz that I've ever witnessed, afterwards I went backstage and bought a CD,Did I forget to mention what an incredibly nice human he is...Buy it standarddeviationsjazz.com

You are correct Stu... Standard Deviations plays some of the nicest jazz around.
Daniel called me a few years ago to ask me about the 4 pup’s and the metal necks
I had on my 90 Mullen. He’s a complete gentlemen, and a very knowledgeable musician.

I've had that CD a couple of years I guess. It's in my truck and is probably about worn out. I need to get it into myiTunes library so I can listen at other times.

Buy it guys, and all others that you can. This is a small community we live in and the investment by the players to make a CD is not insignificant. If YOU don't buy the steel guitar CD's, who will? :D

Daniel is an excellent jazz steeler and the Standard Deviations are wonderful together. Very tight, well-rehearsed arrangements of hip jazz tunes. The album is great; highly recommended!

I understand that he'll be the guest artist this year at the Irish Steel Guitar Association show in Dublin in October, so you guys across the pond have a chance to hear him. Don't miss it!

The videos of Standard Deviations were some of the first jazz steel videos I saw when I was first starting down this road - so inspiring! I would love to meet Dan some time - brilliant player

I was lucky enough to have Dan help me get started. He's definitely next level as a musician... He also has a great ear and gets super tone.

Super guy, great CD.
