According to some earlier posts it's Cal Freeman. I know nothing more about him. Probably some others around here do.

Cal Freeman for sure. Great player! I hear from him once every few years through Facebook.
I met him back in the 1970's when Alvin Crow was doing some gigs in south Louisiana sharing the bill with Gatemouth. Gate was a total musician. He was a legit blues star in the 50's. But he could also do country and played great fiddle. He did blues, r&b, creole, and country in his show. Amazing and super high-energy.
In the video, poor Roy Clark was pretty much left whistling at the train station in a guitar faceoff with Gate, Cal, and Leon. I felt sorry for him, having to follow Gate.

My rig: Infinity and Telonics.
Son, we live in a world with walls, and those walls have to be guarded by men with steel guitars. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Lt. Weinberg?

I am blown away!
In my mind, I always put Roy on a pedestal. He really is a great player.
I knew of, and have heard a bunch of, Gate's Texas Blues. One of my favorites. But, how did I not know this side of him? Gosh, he was having fun, just look at his smile.
Cal is the shizzle!
Roy was WAY outgunned, and I had not imagined the possibility! Time to invest in some Gatemouth Brown records!!

Thanks for the info! Roy is a great picker but in a practiced way and definitely a great showman and ambassador for the guitar. He always seems to emit a lot of glee on stage or in clips. As a pure improviser however, it's not really his bag. Gate definitely threw down the gauntlet and Roy seemed to be slightly scuffling.
