Rick Price retiring, Tommy Detamore slides in...
The fantastic Rick Price decided to "sort of" retire as of Jan 1 of this year, after 10+ years playing phenomenal steel with Jake Hooker and the Outsiders. The question was...who's taking Rick's spot? Tommy Detamore has slid into that position, and is keeping the band (and crowds) happy with some great steel work with this outstanding Texas dancehall band. Lots of work for the great bands in TX, 4 hour dances are still the norm...and a appreciative bunch of dancers and music lovers are glad Jake has Tommy onboard. Shuffles and Western Swing live on!

Good for Rick and good for Tommy.
Rick told me he does want to play some local gigs.
Just what you Central Texas guys need...more competition!

There are only two options as I see it.
Either I'm right, or there is a sinister conspiracy to conceal the fact that I'm right.
Williams Keyless S-10, BMI S-10, Evans FET-500LV, Fender Steel King, 2 Roland Cube 80XL's,
Sarno FreeLoader, Goodrich Passive Volume Pedals, Vintage ACE Pack-A-Seat

Yes, Tommy told me a few weeks ago he would be filling that spot,,,if anyone can, it would definitely be Tommy. We had been seeing Tommy with "Flat Top Jones" at Gruene Hall, but this past Saturday he said he would be in Ft Worth with Hooker. REALLY missed Tommy!!!!
Flat Top had a steel player that I had never seen before around here,,,played a 14 string Sierra with a ton of effects pedals and rack equipment. Anyone know it might be??? (I think someone called him Bryan/Brian????)
