CA fires

Post by Scott Wittmann »

Hope everything is ok in Cloverdale. I can only hope that Bob and his family are ok and safe.

Same here. Cloverdale is north of Santa Rosa where the prevailing wind helped destroy all those homes, but the conditions where b0b lives are still ripe for fire. Also, some of the venues where he plays may have been affected. I just hope he was out of harm's way when all hell broke loose.

Good luck b0b!

There's already a post in "Extended Family" on this.

I posted this link because there is more info there. But I think having a post here will reach more people.

I'm also curious about others that live where the fires are. Are they OK?

My wife lived through the Butte fire. She was living in Mountain Ranch with her mother. The fire came up to her back fence which only about 20 feet from the house.

I'm glad that at least your wife's house made it through. So many didn't, just like this time. I totally understand the shattered nerves and the move to the valley. We evacuated during Butte, but it was voluntary. We did a heartbreaking drive through Mt. Ranch as soon as we could and donated a pickup full of stuff at the recovery center there. This time, I have no idea how to help. It's too close between disasters anymore and we don't have time to build up a reserve of stuff to donate.
