Moe Bandy has a new CD out, called "Lucky Me".
It is good and has some excellent steel work on it.
To me it sounds like Mike Johnson, what say you?

Erv I play steel and fiddle for Moe in his road band and it was Mike Johnson and Tommy White doing the steel work on that project. I know Tommy played on the title cut Lucky Me. The late Hoot Hester played fiddle and Jimmmy Capps was on guitar. I had my work cut out for me learning those parts I can tell you.

John - I've heard that Moe will be playing at a 4-H Foundation event down here in mid-October. Las Palmas Race Park - Mission, TX Will you be joining him?
Lee, from South Texas - Down On The Rio Grande

There are only two options as I see it.
Either I'm right, or there is a sinister conspiracy to conceal the fact that I'm right.

Yes Lee I remember seeing Mission Tx on the schedule. Come out and see us. If you run across Ken Kolberg tell him to come by too. I think he is still working in the valley.

John, I love your playing fiddle and steel. I have heard you several times with Moe, your playing is as good as it gets. Come by the house sometime. Ozark is not that far from Harrison.

You got that right Keith. I spent many years playing beside John with Moe, and we were roommates on the road. He is indeed a fine musician who can tear up anything with strings on it. Sometimes he would sit down behind my steel and totally show me up!

I first heard him play at The Lumberyard in Austin, Texas in 1978. I had only been playing a couple years and was new to Texas, John totally blew me away with his touch, tone, and ideas. A first-class player and great guy!

John - Our band will be playing that night, too. We'll play first, then there's a live auction, then you guys go on.

After our performance, y'all will sound even better than usual!

Wish I could be there. Moe's show is one of the best I've ever seen. Thanks to Moe for keeping in country. I've been listening to "Honky-tonk Amnesia" the past few days. Great song! I'm looking forward to getting the new CD.
