Looking for Special Stuff to Listen to
I have been playing a D10 and have been spending more and more time on the c6 neck.
I know what and how Buddy Emmons and a few well known others played. I understand the big chord sound also. Are there any players now or passed who use it as the main neck?
About the only e9 player I have heard do single string work on the e9 is Ron Elliot. Are there any others?

Re: Looking for Special Stuff to Listen to
I find this statement puzzling. There are LOADS of hot single-string E9 players out there to listen to. Start by digesting the work of Lloyd Green, then come back and we'll discuss next steps.James Quillian wrote:About the only e9 player I have heard do single string work on the e9 is Ron Elliot. I would second curly chalker as being major primary c6.
If you want something special, listen to all of curlys recordings.
Another something special is Tom Morrell.
As far as that listen to Reece andersons work. I mean if you are looking for beautiful sophisticated 4 part harmony going on. As jr and David both say Bb is where it's at.
Single string Hot E9, Paul F., Tommy W., Doug J., Weldon, Bruce B.. The list is long..

Big Jim Murphy, aka "Murph", was another hot player who played great C6th chord stuff, much in the style of Curly Chalker. One clip with Murph and Redd Volkaert is listed below, and you can follow that one to three more posted on YouTube:
