Terry Bethel's recording "Me and Bobby Caldwell"-wow !

Post by Larry Lenhart »

I know this is an old recording but I dug it out today and was listening to it again like it was a new revelation to me ! If you dont have this recording, I think its a must have...both players play their hearts out on this one ! Two of my favorite players ! You can find a sample of this type of playing on youtube:

Not on the above noted recording but gives you an idea if you havent heard them together.

Killer top notch stuff and I was there. Bobby was my hero and Terry left nothing out. Super good set.

I met Terry in 1969 at the Flame Cafe in Mpls. He was a super player even then.
His guitar was a D-10 Domland PSG made in Denver.
The band leader, Leon Boulanger would even let Terry play "4 Wheel Drive". 8)

Yes I was there in ST Louis for that set also...I remember talking to Bobby about thumb picking...he was a big Merle Travis fan as well and I bought a couple of his cds of his thumb picking...what a great player and a nice man ! I got to see Terry play at several of the Branson shows as well...Ozark Steel guitar association I think it was called...great player !
