When Ronnie reared back and let go with that powerful voice the windows would rattle. The Weavers were a great group, and I guess Fred Hellerman outlived them all. Lee Hayes was the first to pass, then Pete Seeger, and now Ronnie is gone. There'll never be another group who had so much influence on American folk music. May be they didn't sell as many recordings as the Kingstons or Peter, Paul, and Mary, but if it wasn't for the Weavers there wouldn't have been a PP&M, Kingston Trio, et. al.. The Weavers broke the trail.
