Knee--lever experiments

Post by Bengt Erlandsen »

After gettin a better understanding about split-tuning screws and that they are no more than a lowering stop on the changer finger it occured to me that there are some fancy changes to experiment other than normal split tuning.

1 would be a knee lever w pull rod that lowers 8 E-Eb and stops at Eb because of split tuning screw, then if one moves the knee lever further it will raise 4 E-F#.

2 would be to lower 4 E-Eb and stops at Eb because of split tuning screw then if one moves the knee lever further it raises 8 E-F

This would in effect give two useful changes on one knee-lever.

Another experiment I have mentioned in an earlier post for those that have 1&7 F#-G. Has anybody tried to raise 6 G#-A on the same lever. It will normally be covered in the A-B position but if one releases Bpedal there is a maj7 chord left on strings 6 5 4 3.
