Carter Steel Guitars is pleased to announce that John Fabian has recently re-filmed and edited our Second Edition of the following video:
<CENTER><FONT SIZE=+1>"The Pedal Steel Guitar E9 Nashville Tuning
Demystified for Standard Guitarists"</FONT></CENTER>
This video is very useful to 6-string standard guitarists who think they may want to play pedal steel guitar, as it explains <FONT SIZE=-1>(in 6-string guitar player terms)</FONT> the basic E9 Nashville Tuning and how it relates to the 6-string guitar.
You are welcome to download and/or redistribute this video as you see fit <FONT SIZE=-1>(as long as you do not edit or change it in any way)</FONT>.
The video is 20 minutes in length and is available in your choice of "Windows Media" or "Real Media" format.
Just had a look at the video and it is really useful. Is there any way I can download it to my computer rather than viewing it while on-line? It takes forever to load using Real Player, and the Windows Media Player route had too many pauses. It would be great if I could store it on my hard drive and refer to specific parts of it as needed.
Jerry,
If you right click on the link you will get a drop down menu. Choose "save target as" and you will be able to save the video to your hard drive.
I'm just starting out on pedal steel and found the video to be very useful...thanks Ann.

After speaking with John last week I just had a chance to view the video.
Excellent job John..An entire primer learners book on video..for free..
I would say.."Leading the pack"...
If this video program does not get new players in the saddle pretty rapidly then there probably is not much else that can be
offered to them that will..
I'm just starting on steel but have played guitar all my life and I have been trying to learn on my own for the time being and have been seeing the relationship of the steel in terms of guitar more and more - its starting to make sense and this video cleared that up even more - however us rock and rollers cant pronounce half those chords or inversions must less play em on the guitar! hahaha now if i can just stop making these CHINK CHINK CHINK sounds ......
Great work ann and john and carter steels. I down loaded 6 string video to my hd other day. i went one better. I burned it to CD so you can go instantly to any spot on video and freeze frame video. so you can read text on video for as long as you need like the tunning string chart. now i can free up my hd space again. but can play it any time i want thru windows media viewer. Thanks James
