Billy Joe Foster

Post by Dean Holman »

Billy Joe was a friend of mine that I worked with when we were with Ricky Skaggs, has passed away today. He was a great musician that could play many instruments and was one if the nicest and caring gentleman you could ever meet. God rest his soul.

Sorry to hear about this. I saw him play in many configurations, the first time fiddling with Bill Monroe, then in a band with my good friend Gene Wooten. I liked his singing, too. Prayers and comfort to his family.

I am really sorry to hear this. He grew up next door to me, in Oklahoma. We had mutual relatives.

He WAS a great musician and a great individual. He will surely be missed.

I remember Billy Joe being everywhere at Bill Grant's bluegrass festival in Hugo OK when I was a kid. I'm very sorry to hear of his passing.

I am so sad to hear this. I played many festivals with Billy Joe throughout Texas and Oklahoma and was amazed at his talent as well as what a nice soft spoken person he was.
