This IS a shock. Sue and I became friends at the Texas show, more than 10 years ago. I knew she had been having some health problems, but never expected this. She will be missed by all who knew her.

I've just received the sad news in an email. I am so sorry to hear this. Barbara and I have known Sue for a very long time ... she was very supportive of our British Steel Guitar Festival for pretty well all of the 21 years we ran it. Since then, we've met up with her annually at the Irish Steel Guitar Festival. We'll miss seeing her. Rest in peace, Sue.

OMG, this is terrible news. Sue was such a nice person and a good friend since we met at Scotty's convention in 1984 or '86. I have tears in my eyes as I write this.

She once visited me here in Los Angeles. We spent a day talking steel and then another hitting the local restaurants and a museum.

How old was she?

I am very sorry to hear this sad news. Her presence at the steel shows will be sorely missed.

Mike, although I am not entirely certain as to accuracy, about 64 has been mentioned.

Sad news. Sue was an integral part of the steel guitar family. I always enjoyed her ideas for tunes that would make interesting instrumentals for the steel guitar. My thoughts go out to Sue's friends and family. I will miss her.
