Lowell Davis Has Gone Home

Post by Lefty Schrage »

Vic and Debi Switzer have asked me to announce that Lowell Davis (Marshalltown, IA), their good friend and a friend of many, died of lung cancer Saturday evening, November 12, at 5:12p. An 80-year old steel enthusiast for 62 years, Lowell's love for steel guitar began when he bought a Gibson lap steel right out of high school, then progressed to a triple-neck Fender, followed by a Fender 400, then a clear-lacquer Sho~Bud (circa early 60's), and finally an Emmons push/pull which he played until he left us.
Visitation is 5-7 p.m. Thursday, November 17, at Kruse & Phillips Funeral Home, Tama, IA; the funeral is 10:30a, Friday, November 18, at Christ United Methodist Church, 301 S Broadway, Toledo, IA.
