USB Microphone

Post by Ann Vidrine »

I am trying to hook up my usb microphone using Presonus' Studio One software. I thought the mic would be plug n play, but it's not working out like that. Could someone tell me how to get the mic working in this program? Do I have to assign it somehow? Thanks.[/b]

In my vast experience leaping through the fields where white rabbits dare not tread, I have seen many a sound mixer that has the Mic channel off, or muted by default. Look at your sound mixer, for both the recording and playback options and un-mute, or activate the Mic channel, to enable it, then add volume. If there is a checkbox for automatic level, try it also.

Did you install the driver for the mic?
Do you hear "ding dong" from Windows when you plug it in?
Does the mic show up in the Control Panel/System list?
Are you holding your mouth just right?
