I use WinAmp. It's free for the "non - pro" version. it works good for me.
Although, Media Player was OK. The problem I find with Media Player, is I downloaded some YouTube videos of songs I had to learn, and Media Player wouldn't play some of them, yet WinAmp would.
Of course, being able to set start and stop points like mentioned above would be nice to be able to repeat the section over and over. WinAmp doesn't do this, although they have selections under the "Play" menu to jump forward or back 5 seconds (and I think that maybe the right and left arrow keys may be hot keys to do those functions). I find it easier just to drag the slider back.

Not to hijack your thread, but WinAmp is a target for crimeware exploit kits used by cyber criminals. It was recently updated to counteract a security flaw that could lead to complete system takeover. If you do use WinAmp, please check for updates every month, including right now.Richard Sinkler wrote:I use WinAmp. It's free for the "non - pro" version. it works good for me.

Nice to know Wiz. I just did an update recently. I try to keep up with any updates, and thankfully, most programs nowadays sends info on updates to you.
Wiz... See new thread to find out more about the Winamp flaws. I don't want to veer this thread off topic too far.

I've used Transcribe for quite a while now - http://www.seventhstring.com/ - not free, but does precisely what is needed.Brian LeBlanc wrote:Is there a better program to play cuts for Practice?
